One of the oldest cultivated plants, it was a main staple of the Aztec and Incan peoples. It is a tall plant with broad leaves, closely related to spinach and beets producing thousands of tiny seeds. Amaranth is rich in protein, fibre and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and managanese. Ideal when added to your muesli or sprinkled over your breakfast fruit!
