Burcott Mill was built for the Bishop of Wells and listed amongst his estates in the Domesday Book. For 1,000 years the waters from the Upper Axe have spilled from Wookey Hole to power mils along thsi man-made watercourse. Now only Burcott Mill remains, one of only 50 fully working water-powered flour mills operating in Britain.
This wholemeal flour is ground at Burcott Mill using organically grown grain from Sharpham Park.
