Omega Nutrition Flax seed
This cold milled flaxseed is rich in both essential fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid (Omega 3 group) and linoleic acid (Omega 6 group). It is also rich in oleic acid (Omega 9). Documented use of flaxseed dates back to 5,000BC and the Romans and Charlemagne marched their armies on it!
It is crunchy and has a light nutty flavour as cold milling chops the seed without heating the mill blades, so the essential fatty acids remain intact. The flax is not crushed, so the precious oil is retained. Vacuum-packed in a lined, resealable foil bag to retain freshness.
Flax seeds offer both lignans and essential fatty acids (EFA's). EFA's are essential for maintaining good health by acting as building blocks in cell membranes and aiding in the production of hormone-like substances that are necessary for energy metabolism.
Flax seed also contains high concentrations of lignans, making it the richest available source. Plant lignans are converted in the colon by bacterial fermentation into a form of lignans that can be used by humans. Lignans are structurally similar to estrogens and work within the body to balance estrogen levels.
The Omega 3 oil content has to be at least 57% and this is ensured by these flaxseeds being grown in Canada north of the 53rd parallel (further north continues into the north polar regions) as the cold climate determines the levels of Omega 3 in the flaxseed. It is the coldness during the flowering i.e. the last 10-25 days that raises the levels of Omega 3 and decreases the Omega 6 content. The same plant grown in a warmer hemisphere will have a high Omega 6 content and little or even no Omega 3!
Take two tablespoons daily or as desired. the benefits of daily consumption of Cold Milled Flax include: essential EFAs for maintaining good health by acting as building blocks in cell membranes; helps to regulate bowel movements; helps balance blood sugar and cholesterol levels; promotes anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal effects in the body; enhances the immune system; hormone-balancing effects on the body and aids in the production of hormone-like substances that are necessary for energy metabolism.

Lanes Lecigran
Lecithin is a complex mixture of natural chemical compounds called "phospholipids" which consist of fatty acids and a phosphate group linked to choline and inositol. Lecithin occurs naturally in all human, animal and vegetable cells. The most abundant source of lecithin in plant life is the soya bean. In humans, where the highest concentrations are found in the brain, liver, kidneys and bone marrow, lecithin circulates in the blood keeping other fatty substances - including cholesterol - in suspension. Lecithin is rich in phosphatidyl choline, a nutrient which plays an important role in the breakdown of fat in the liver and the emulsification of fat in food. Many of the foods we eat have been refined thus destroying their valuable lecithin content, diets which are rich in refined foods may not contain sufficient lecithin. Many men and women, particularly those on low fat, low cholesterol diets like to supplement the body's own supply of lecithin. Patrick Holford in his book "Optimum Nutrition for the Mind" suggests a tablespoon of lecithin granules every day as choline is transformed into acetycholine, a brain chemical vital for the transmission of messages between the brain cells..
Lecigran can be sprinkled onto all kinds of foods without affecting the taste or it can be taken directly from the spoon if preferred. Lecigran is a highly concentrated form of lecithin - one teaspoonful contains as much lecithin as eighteen 270mg capsules. Lecigran is available in the following sizes: 250g and 500g.

Bio-Health Extra Selenium
Some minerals are thought to be lacking in the modern diet because of local variations of the mineral content in the soil used to grow food. Extra Selenium capsules contain biologically active selenium yeast, so providing it in an organic food form. In the U.K. the availability from vegetables is low compared to that of countries where growing conditions give rich results. Seafoods probably account for dietary source and where shellfish or other seafood is lacking regularly from the diet it may result in inadequate intake. One capsule daily will provide an adequate dose of this trace element which is present in a medium upon which primary grown yeast feeds and is taken up into the cells during the growth cycle. It is then more easily absorbed into the bloodstream than inorganic forms because it is a natural biological food source. Careful laboratory trial and batch testing helps ensure accuracy of product content. Each capsule contains 100ug.
